Pond and Parish Church. Ref: v0058.

A view of the Parish Church (DOE 10/113) looking south-west across the pond from Leighton Road. There is lady with hat and basket in the foreground (posing?). A young boy further back is leaning against the railings. The Windmill House shed and gate on left appear to be closer to the pond than they are today (2014). The shop/post office (DOE 10/118) in middle ground has a sign over the door (now called Pond Cottages). At the right of the shop/post office is the butcher’s where the carcases were hung. Notice total absence of plants in the pond. No telegraph poles. Reverend Newman’s notice on the barn said ‘Stick no Bills’. Compare with v0129
