The Wingrave with Rowsham Heritage Association
Preserving Our Past, Enriching Our Future: Unveiling the Stories of Wingrave and Rowsham.
About us
Wingrave with Rowsham Heritage Association arose from the Wingrave Archive Association founded in 2001. The creation of an impressive Parish Archive had been achieved and the principal purpose of the Association has been to enhance and manage it by continuing to investigate and record the history of the village of Wingrave and the hamlet of Rowsham.
A Website was launched in January 2014 in order to provide easy access to digitised copies of information and images held in the Archive. It has now been replaced and updated and it is used to promote events, principally Talks and Trips, organised by the Association, to record reports of significant events which have taken place in the Parish and to publish historical articles prepared by members. The website regularly attracts enquiries from local residents and from abroad from the families of former residents.
The Association is delighted to accept material for placing in the Archive and to receive comments and suggestions as to how it can continue to be enhanced and improved.
How you can help.
New members are always welcome. The present subscription is £10 per year which entitles members to attend all Talks without further payment. There is a charge of £4 for Visitors.
Funding
The original website was designed and built by OI Digital (formerly Office Innovation) with financial support from both Wingrave with Rowsham Parish Council and Aylesbury Vale District Council. The Parish Council has also authorised payment of a grant from the Kirby Fund to contribute towards the cost of developing this new website and migrating all data on to a new platform.
OI Digital has continued to host and maintain the original website and the Association is extremely grateful for their tremendous support and helpful initiatives.
